Tile on plywood or glue-down vinyl on epoxy can easily lead to failed installations. Think about subfloors FIRST so you don’t waste thousands of dollars on a new floor. When you visit Island Carpet, we only recommend products that work for your specific space and situation. It’s part of our ‘every home is different, every job is custom’ approach.
We have a saying at Island Carpet: Every Home is Different, Every Job is Custom. That means that every floor is different too.
It's our job, for instance, to find what what floors are currently in your house. Not just the surface finishes, but the subfloors too.
Subfloors are very important. Are they concrete? Are they plywood or particle board? Are they epoxy?
For instance, if you have epoxy in a basement (see photo above) it limits what we are able to do in terms of installing a glue down vinyl product.
If you have any questions about substrates or need help selecting a new floor, give us a call at 401-214-0285 or visit our showroom. We serve customers throughout Rhode Island and southeastern New England, including Newport, Middletown, Jamestown, Portsmouth, Bristol and more.
