Lifetime warranties provide a SENSE of safety. In reality? They’re fake news. That’s right, flooring warranties aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. The list of exclusions is nauseating and these guarantees are intentionally misleading. What’s a shopper to do? Talk to a retailer you trust will properly install quality flooring products. That’s your best chance of avoiding flooring issues down the road.
If I'm known for anything, it's for scorning the misleading warranties that my industry puts out on every single type of flooring product. To review: ignore any and all warranties.
There's one type of warranty that really makes my blood boil and that's the so-called 'Lifetime Warranties.' I'm here to tell you that Lifetime Warranties in the flooring industry lasts the lifetime of a fruit fly.
They're worthless. Run the other way when someone tries to make you impossible guarantees. It's not that these products aren't good or that they won't perform. But, let's get real: Nothing lasts for a lifetime.
