Brazilian cherry, walnut, Tigerwood, golden teak, and more are back. Richer tones, bolder grain, and a very different feel from the oak and maple samples most people have already seen.
Some customers know they want the drama of Brazilian Walnut, Tigerwood, or Teak. Others just know the standard hardwood samples feel too quiet. Either way, the best next step is comparing the species in person.
Brazilian Cherry, Brazilian Oak, Brazilian Walnut, Brazilian Teak, Golden Teak, and Tigerwood. Richer color, bolder grain, and a look that oak simply does not offer.
You may not need an exotic hardwood specifically. You may simply need a floor with more grain, variation, warmth, or visual interest than the clean modern samples you keep seeing.
Ken walks through the exotic hardwood species now available and explains why they are worth considering if you are tired of oak and maple.
Oak and maple are popular for good reason. They are familiar, versatile, and easy to place in a wide range of homes. But sometimes familiar is the problem. If every sample feels a little too expected, changing the species can do more than changing the stain.
Exotic hardwoods bring their own natural character. Brazilian Walnut runs from deep chocolate to olive. Tigerwood has bold striping unlike any domestic species. Teak brings a warm golden direction that deepens over time. These are not quiet background floors. They have presence.
That does not mean they belong in every room. A floor with this much movement needs to work with the furniture, light, trim, cabinetry, and overall style of the home.

Exotic hardwoods are harder to evaluate on a screen than domestic species. The depth of the color, the scale of the grain, and the way light moves across the floor all compress badly in a product photo.
When you visit our showroom, we can put Brazilian walnut, Tigerwood, teak, and other exotic species next to oak and maple options in similar tones. Most people find that comparison answers their questions quickly. The difference is usually more obvious in person than they expected.
We offer free measures and quotes before you commit.
If the usual hardwood samples are not getting you excited, visit our Middletown showroom and compare exotic hardwood options side by side. Bring a few photos of your room along with any cabinet, trim, or paint colors you are working with. We can usually narrow it down quickly.
